What a beautiful Easter weekend we had at Shady Oaks Baptist Church! The Good Friday Service was a beautiful reminder of the sacrifice Jesus made for each of us. The Car Hop on Saturday was a rousing success, reaching many families in our community. Worship on Sunday was truly glorious!
But now that Easter is over, what do we do? We could say that we are tired, we need to rest and relax a little. But for how long? Let’s take a look at what Jesus said to the disciples after his resurrection. In Luke 24:44-48, we read, “Then he said to them, “These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.” 45 Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, 46 and said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and on the third day rise from the dead, 47 and that repentance for[c] the forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem. 48 You are witnesses of these things.”
Listen carefully to Jesus’ words, “repentance for sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things.” Easter is “over,” but the work has just begun. Are you ready to proclaim repentance for sins in Jesus’ name to all nations, beginning right here in Hurst? There are so many opportunities coming up for you to jump in and work for the Kingdom in the coming months. Ninja Warrior Night, VBS, Camps, the list goes on and on…Be ready. Be a witness!
